Interesting combination of an absolutely calm earth and angry sky. I can almost picture it in dark red color!

salut Pierre,
Fred

A very interesting, moody b/w.
Looks like the tree is holding the sky:)

Love it, thanks, Karina

I always find lonely trees facinating subjects to photograph. Well done on the composition. Nice choice of black and white.

absoluteley fantastic sky here, I am even a bit distracted by the powerful sky when I look to the tree!!

Very powerful Pierre. The composition is very dramatic with that fantastic backdrop of clouds. Wonderful tones and details. The layers of different textures really make this shot for me. Very well done Pierre!

Love and Peace Always,
Kevin

Belle composition Pierre,

Simple and beautiful, BW is perfect for this kind of shots. The juxtaposition of this tree with the clouds makes for an interesting dynamic. Well seen and taken!

Hi Pierre,
What a great capture of this isolated tree. Excellent composition and detail. I like the choice of b&w in this case (b&w always seems contemplative to me, which certainly meshes with your notes) Well done. Cheers, Todd

Hi Pierre! Superb composition on this capture. The gray tonal ranges are just perfect. Exp[osures are gerat. And the image it true to your title!

David

Bonjour Pierre,
Bravo! Annie

fantastic tones, love the space in the comp and then that lonely tree emphasizes it even more, thanx, M, (*_*)

Bonjour Pierre

I like the graphism & starkness of the gaunt old tree, againt the sky. A superb tonal range, with excellent sharpness & framing. Merci!

Hi Pierre,

Oh yes; I see these often along the highway; early morning eg in the rising sun; but I cannot stop to capture them. These little trees are so full of sorrow and desolation. Moody view; the soudn from a crow is suitable.
Thx Pierre
Huub

Lovely image of the lone tree. Great tones & comp. Title fits very well.

Great black and white photo-awesome sharpness and clarity.

Hi Pierre,

Very impressive B&W shot! Moody sky, with nice cloud pattern, very sharp and well composed.

Belle image Pierre.

Guy

Interesting textures throughout the image. The extra sky at the top works well. I think it adds drama and impact.

fantastic image, fantastic sky,Pierre !

I'm surprised that nobody has gone on to add this to their favourites! I know it should be the tree that stands out the most... but the sky and the fruitless surface just stands out so well... I'm not sure but it's what I like most in the image. Now having said that, the tree looks just as good... I love how the bark has given it this 'Dalmation' effect. :P And the fine branches extending to the heavens looks really fine... black and white is a must here, I love it- stunning image Pierre.

Biance.

wow. wonderful shot... i like it in B&W...also the clouds... excellent... TFS

Remember my name... FAme! ...

Hi Pierre,

Perfectly frozen in time, love your wonderful compo. Cheers always.

Thanks/Salamat,
Jeffrey

I can't lie to you ... that title you chose made me smile, as I would have never thought that you will join the ranks of many that go for this, eh, sorry, a tad cliche title. Maybe trying something like 'scaring crows'? Just a thought ...

What always makes me puzzled in scenes like this is the apprporiate proportion of sky and earth to frame or sandwich the tree. I think here you found a good balance due to the smoky-like clouds and the lines on the ground. As always, b/w tones - perfect!

A.

Hi Pierre,
It's just "alone" as in your title.. Very nice mood and composition. I really like it, simple but attractive. Only if there weren't dark clouds above the tree, it'd be more open space and it might be more "alone" to me. Great work!!
TFS,
Phavin
