[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
And then one day, as 2007 jettisoned 2006 and a whole wet and uncertain year lay before us, we looked out the window and marveled at how chance and causality were united within us and only us. For how else to explain that the visitors had decided that this would be the day and Amsterdam Avenue would be the place? As we sipped our coffee and salted our eggs, nursing our hangovers and trying to slow down the march of minutes before a new workday interrupted our repose, we knew that we were the nexus, the nucleus of the atom. What other theory could suffice? Our eyes were all the evidence we needed . . . and we were flush with the sense of promise and expectation, for we could see so clearly now that the future was finally here, and this would be the year that everything changed.

Sometimes I worry about you.

You're really the writer of TL!
Never short of something new to say, comment and announce.
Great shot. I love the reflections: they somehow suggest the tension between illusion and reality - illusion, of course, always seeming brighter and more welcoming.

Goody one! :)

Ah...we see by the means of a hazy outline in a metal mirror? (like prophecy). Wonderful picture and a great writing, Hugh. Triple aces for the note! TFS. Nice blend in PP.

A real tree and a "lighttree", funny reflection and nice movement with the umbrella. I would like to see more of the person ( in move of course ;) )

Yes, a change ... but for what and in what direction, I wonder. Early mornings after holidays seem so strangely melancholy. Your photograph seems to reflect that mood of ennui ...

Great photo! And the comment too, although I'm not sure I got it all.

Hi Hugh, strange composition, but I like it, wonderful light and colors, very well done, have a nice sunday, ciao Silvio
