[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Tonight, TrekLens member dominant and myself went for a little drive into the countryside, to find an abandoned schoolhouse that we passed by a few months earlier.

Both of us have been letting our cameras collect more dust than pictures lately, and the spring weather was finally starting to cooperate, so we broke out the tripods and set out to further experiment with night photography.

Maybe an hour or so later, we left for home with dead batteries and cold toes.

This is my favorite shot from this outing. It was roughly a 15-minute exposure, using a spotlight to "paint" the schoolhouse in the foreground. A farm truck happened to pass by, hence the streak in the background, and the bright cluster of star trails at the top right is the constellation Orion.

Spring weather brings itchy shutter fingers and warm nights, so we will be back out again as soon as we get another chance.

Compared to UND, I'm sure that the faculty/staff circle of BS is much smaller at that school.

a very interesting shot. personally i find the long shutter a little distracting, but this is only my opinion. nice lighting and great work. tfs.

Hi Brian,
Simply an awesome photo. The slow shutter speed made the sky and the car lights in the back really wonderful. The spotlight technique gave the photo the perfect illumination and brought out some great texture and shades. (it a technique I still want to do)
