After a rain shower, I love to go out into the fresh newness of the world. Of course, "the world" is my own yard. The colors are more alive and there is a diamond sparkle everywhere from the raindrops, still clinging seductively to all they have fallen upon. I search for reflections in the raindrops, my favorite photographs.
This one is a tiny Crepe Myrtle seed pod, smaller than the tip of my little finger, with a raindrop hovering at the tip of the seed.
I liked this photo due to the natural blurring of the white Crepe Myrtle flower in the foreground as I focused on the seed. It gives an airy, almost "angel wing" effect without post processing.
The most beautiful views we can see is nature itself. It is always there and I marvel at it's natural beauty.

what a wonderful shot Kathleen, I love the colour and your diamond. :D BG is fantastic, it make the subject stand out. sharp detail of the rain drop just amazing. Thanks for sharing

This is a beautifully composed shot Kathleen. Love the clarity of the rain drop. The colours are perfect too. Well spotted. Love to come for a coffee but its a long walk from Scotland.

Peter

nice shot.. the color is so cooll... and the sharpness and the reflection on the raindrop is really wonderful.. very very well captured.. tfs, kathleen

Great shot! The sharpness of the raindrop is wonderful. The colors are lovely as well. Nice frame as well.

Kat, this is so sweet of you to choose Per's favourite colour. Everything in the garden is so fresh and full of clean colours after a rainfall. This is a great capture of the seed pod. The focus is excellent, especially on the raindrop. I agree about the petals looking like angel wings. Nice to include them. Well done Kat.
My fav colour is lilac :)

Good macro, sharp, with plenty of detail and fresh colors. The frame you chose for this one is perfect. I am going to confess that I like the white myrtle flowers even more that than the seed pod :-) it's probably because of that "angel wing" factor, but I find it visually very attractive.
Well done.
Ana

Everytime we can find the same details of nature in different shapes and forms.
Especially with water, nature is making "jewels" and you captured this one in a nice way in your own "park"...

Kat, the reflection and the seed pod are magnificently captured, just like we're used to from you ;o). But I don't like the arty frame that is being covered by the picture itself... IMO this type of frame must be the top layer and it should cover the picture.
What I really like is the fuzzy background with all these green & whiteish hues. TFS.

Nature breaths its perfume after a good shower. Water is the key and source of all life.
A very detailed macroshot Kathleen, with a very peculiar drop underneath. Nature in the ovum-state. Well composed and framed.TFS

Love the cool colours in this one Kat. The fuzzy cotton candy white is superb. The water drop is most odd in shape, no doubt because of the stem or fibrous pod covering that is below and captured by the water droplet. A very neat macro and a wonderful view of nature. Love the greens too.

Wow Kat, you even cought a small thread in the drop of dew. I like your photo, good composition and indeed al the colors are more alive after some rain or early in the morning when there's dew on all the plants.
We frequently walk through the garden early in the morning to see what this new day has brought to us. We can smell the scent of a new day and it feels like X-Mas presents...every time!
See you, Richard

great subject, colors and composition. A lovely macro shot! TFS..

I agree with your notes Kathleen, nature is the best artist, I love your photo, the darker seed contrasts wonderfully to the white of the flowers, excellent shot, well done!

Hi Kathleen, great picture. It's great to see what nature can give us for amazing pictures and sceneries.
great work
bye alex

Kat, A superb macro shot with great sharpness and vibrant greens. Well done, Paul.

Kat, just got back from Spain, and what do I find? A photo dedicated to me. Wow, I am honored. Funny that you like the blurring of the white in this one. That effect I really only see as good use of the limited dof. But the white background of the drop where the rest of the background is green is so cool. And in fact the way that drop looks just about to burst puts so much action into such a peaceful macro. I will have to check out that resizing in several steps method one of these days. Thanks again, Kat.

Kat, this is beautiful...the colours, framing and sharpness of your macro are all very good.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful spring with us in the north.
Hugs,
Liz

indeed a nice DOF to play with the white part of the crepe myrtle flower... i quite like this shot, but still not so much the frame... but this is an old story you know all about already...
cheers
Eric
