I decided not to obey the rule of thirds here. Hope it works.

Hi Katya,

I am glad you did not follow the rule of thirds here. It came out more beautiful this way IMHO. I like too the two diagonals in the photo. TFS.

Konie

It does ;)

Beautiful image Katja.
Soft, wonderful colours nd such an elegant simplicity....
I don't really understand why people get so attached to rule of thirds, as if it was some strange dogma....
I particulary like to break this rule every time I see necessary ;)
Your comp is harmonic and it's a perfect choice!

TFS!

take care, Stef :))

It works wonderfully Katya!
Nice lead-in line using the branch and the DOF is very good. Nicely done Katya.

Love and Peace Always,
Kevin

The rules of thirds can be broken at any time, your presentation is proof. Very lovely soft image with a short DOF, that in itself works for me.

Paul

I've learnt a lot about the rule of third and stuff, but when I'm taking photos don't care about it at all. Just shoot the way I think it's good! :)
How did you achieve that solid green background, Katya?? It looks pretty good emphasizing the sharp white flower! очень хороший :)

Hi Katya,
It is always good to break a rule or tow when you take a picture. I like this, nice hazy background an dthe sharp flower. Looks good.

Hello Ekaterina, this does work! It has a Japanese feel to it. Very nice as a solo blossum. very sharp with nice details and colours. You have a very good DOF.

I still see the rule of thirds here, but in a more diagonal version.

Well done.

Happy Easter and Christ is Risen!

Very good geometry and stunning coloring!

P.S. Here in Romania, when you meet somebody in Easter’s days is used to say “Christ is Risen!” The other body responses “Indeed He Risen!”

Claudiu

I like it, it works perfectly for me, delicate and good contrast of colours, that green is superb.

Hi, hi!!

Ah man! I took a shot much like this the other day, but it certainly didn't turn out like this. Same flower/bud... just a little pinker. Anyways, the DOF ah man... I'm envious. What camera do you use? Ah this is brilliantly composed, not flaws... the colours, the positions and just the photo in all... I'm going to have to revise my favourites, this is a must.

Beautiful. That's it.

Biance.

Missed this one first time around.. As rules are meant to be broken (sometimes and with good reason), I fully enjoy your spring composition. You have again synthesized beauty in a few compositional elements.
