Brown Pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis) and Laughing Gull (Larus atricilla)
While sitting and watching the sunset at the base of the Causeway on Galveston Island I observed pelicans feeding accompanied by gulls. Usually 3 or 4 gulls would surround each pelican and wait for scraps. This pelican has just caught a fish and is about to swallow it. They were swimming along the edge of the golden reflection of the sunset.

Hi Jim,
Remarkable birds. We don't have these in the Netherlands (oke, in the Zoo we have them).
Beautiful light and sharp images!
greetings,
Joop!
I just love Galveston and the history behind it is so much fun to learn about! This is a nice shot, l like the warm colors!
Linda
