Dysthymia is cronic depression - usually low grade & for some an never ending battle of pushing off the feeling.

Used two cameras to capture the reflection.

SUPERB!!! I like it a lot.

Steph.

Wow. Another amazingly conceived and executed work of art with a social message. If you aren't already, you could create some powerful public service message. Brilliant visualization of the pain dysthymia sufferers must feel. -Hugh

Good visual presentation on your note/title. You've done well on the pp. very creative. tfs chuck!

Hi Chuck!
A long time without realization but when you make some, wow you do not miss your blow, it is really special, which work. TFS
Diane

Wow, this really does give the sense of being confined within one's own negative emotions. It's like you're stuck while your lying down, but your facial expression is quite calm. It's as if when you have depression, in many ways you do not want to get out of it. I am not sure if that makes any sense or if I'm rambling, but I think the shot conveys chronic depression pretty well. The somber dull blue tones and colors, the relfection of a somewhat cloudy sky, and the reflection on the glass weighing you down are so effective. I might even try this in black and white because I find the colors in your clothes and skin and hair a little distracting from the somber theme. Really amazing post-processing though, the effect of the mirrors behind you against the backdrop of a cloudy sky are amazing. TFS!

WOW!! Very interestingly cool pp creation!! Great work!! TFS

THAT's WHAT WRONG WITH ME!! You have diagnosed it! Man you really have a gift here! Another great rock-n-roll album cover! I'm sure there are songs devoted to this condition! I feel it!
Great shot Chuck!

I'll be back..............

i like the concept in the photo chuck :)
excellent composition and technique

koh

This is truly amazing. Depression sucks all the life out of people. I'm very interested to know how you used the two cameras to capture this scene. I like the concept and execution of this image. My compliments to you.

Phuwww....Chuck, this is a special PP-art work. You used two cameras while I have difficulties with handling "just" one? Anyway a superb piece of art. Great idea and very inspiring! TFS.

Hi Chuck,
Well composed image on this ailment that unfortunately is so commonplace. It seems that it is a prerogative of what we inadequately call our modern way of life.
Regards,
Tibi

Always a great joy to discover your wonderful work...as always...
Bravo
I like it a lot...
Have good time
Claude

Hmph, I'm rather impressed... actualy, extremely impressed. Stunning quality, the quality of the idea, the creativity, the actual outcome and just... the levels! etc. etc.

This reminds me of a horrible nightmare I have. Me in a glass box, falling to the bottom of the ocean, while killer whales are circling... ugh, needless to say, it's scary. :P

Darn you... so talented, so very talented. :) TFS!

Biance.

I Really admire your works. Very experimental and thought provoking. I once tried to "create" reflection by my own and found it to be a master exercise. This one is working very well. Maybe I would have considered using some more non-every day clothes for this shot, but that's probably just me... Well done!

Regards,
Johan

lates addition again expertly handled. looks claustrophobic. if rotated standing it gives an impression of the man stuck above on a high rise building. TFS

Hi Chuck,

This is an impressive composition!! Great PP work and imagination!!

Very very well done
Constantinos

Amazing work, Chuck. You really have a talent for conceiving and executing shots that depict various conditions. The subject seems resigned to the situation, and not too disturbed by it.
Take care,
Karen

Oggie

hello Chuck,

Great and creative idea as usual ! Be careful, too much "reflection" (or reflexion) can give a depression...
:))
Good work !
Best regards
Pascal

A exeptional piece of photographic art, chuck! Your work should illustrate the relevant articles in psychology/psychiatry journals. You are bang on with this illustration!
Cheers

As ever the PP work and initial photography is top drawer, and before I read your note the first thought that came to me was "serious psychological issue being portrayed here" (not knowing what Dysthymia was) - so obviously you've managed to convey the message superbly!
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Very creative and exceptional work that conveys the message! Congrats!

Hello Chuck,

I'm exploring your images because I saw someone else's photo and followed your comment. I think the concept of this photo is very interesting and just the fact that you thought of it is very creative.

Good luck to you!
