| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Given the choice of people or places for genre, I vote people. This shot of our greyhound mix Emma was taken just before sunset at our local arboretum. The light was just perfect. There is some blow-out on the white fur beneath her collar, but the white on her face and ears is exposed well enough I'm pleased with this shot.
I was using aperture priority mode on the Fuji, zoomed in quite a bit, too. This photo has been cropped, resized and sharpened, but that's about it. I'm very pleased with the Fuji's lens quality and the sharpness of its images.
I didn't think the flash fired, but according to the EXIF info, it did. It wasn't needed, but I must have had it up still from doing a shot against the light sky. |

Fill flash is what makes Emma's face nicely lit, Kimberly. IMO you were lucky to have it on, if unintentionally... I like the compo you used, her body in the left lower corner, giving us the impression to look over her shoulder, see what she would see if she turned away from you.
Generally speaking I prefer dog portraits without their collars ;o).
Anyway, TFS
Hi Kimberley,
Beautiful dog and very nice colours and sharpness.
Good POV.
Well done.
Ciao,
