A little purple or house finch with bad eyes. Over the past few years I have noticed these finches with an eye disease of some sort. They fly eratically, tis one is able to get to water & seed. I talk to him & seems to calm him & able to get pretty close. I had the camera about 4 feet away for these two shots. Here you see the good eye not looking normal & in the workshop you can see the bad eye swelled shut. He probaly will not survive too long, being easy prey for predators.

What a pity, Don, because he is such an attractive bird. Nature is very cruel! Still, you have made a good capture; great pov, lovely colours, sharp focus and detail. Well done!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

I guess it caused by the way man takes care of his suroundings :-)
Very good capture. And I agree with you, he won't last long
