A Green Darner searches for tiny or microscopic organisms to have for lunch. The Darner was given this name because of it's resemblance to a darning needle. Folk lore states that it was believed the dragonfly would come to you in the middle of the night and sew your eyes shut. Parents would sometimes threaten their children with a visit from the Green Darner if they didn't behave...Darner's are aggressive feeders and it is even documented of one attacking a hummingbird for disturbing it.
