Cattails front the mist enshrouded Lonestar Lake in Northeastern Kansas. This small picturesque lake is a few short minutes south and west of Lawrence Kansas.

Excellent composition and depth, with misty mood and calm water that make this a delightful lake scene. I like the feeling that I'm sitting right there on the shore:) Well done!

Hi Darren,
What a magnificant picture! That title made me think it would be a still further south, but then to my great surprise, it turned out to be Lawrence Kansas!
Since I am officially a KU MUM, I know Lawrence and this lake also! Such a co-incidence. Our foster son walked down the hill in May 10 years ago and we witnessed the celebration sitting on the hillside overlooking the stadion.
This picture is one, I love to watch again and again.

Photographic magic!

This is inspiration, I love it! Beautiful capture of light and shadow here, with some very special elements: the reflections on the water separated by the mist, the reeds in the foreground creating a curve across the upper portion of the frame; everything has its place and the composition works superbly.
