Remembering Our Fallen Heroes Everywhere
Another image... look HERE
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday that is observed on the last Monday of May (observed this year on 2007-05-28). It was formerly known as Decoration Day. This holiday commemorates U.S. men and women who have died in military service to their country. It began first to honor Union soldiers who died during the American Civil War. After World War I, it expanded to include those who died in any war or military action. One of the longest standing traditions is the running of the Indianapolis 500, which has been held in conjunction with Memorial Day since 1911.
Traditional observance
Many people observe this holiday by visiting cemeteries and memorials. A national moment of remembrance takes place at 3 p.m. Washington time. Another tradition is to fly the U.S. flag at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. Volunteers place a U.S. flag upon each gravesite located in a National Cemetery.

Well, I would cropped it a bit more :
the less " living people " the better for me.
Then the ribbon around the pic ... it's a bit to joyfull for me, would choose another type.
Well, you can't win them all ... ;-)

Hello Fred, this is a very moving memorial, I remember seeing it on a visit to Washington some years ago.
Personally I prefer your shot without the ribbon, the ribbon just seems too bright.
I do like the POV.
Thank you for the comprehensive notes.
Best wishes Jean.

WOW!
What a marvellous shot and impressive PP-WORK, Fred!
I appreciate a lot the note where you say how you did it. Nevertheless my knowledge of PS is too poor for me to do it. I don't even know how to make a new layer, or select a rectangular border :(
Thank you very much for your ideas and lessons, anyway. I hope some day to learn more about it.
Greetings,
Maite
