[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A friend of mine invited me today to try for some photos of a pair of Baltimore Orioles that were building a nest in his oak tree. A female was doing most of the work but you would see the male come in once in awhile. The nest was about 30 feet up dangling from a limb. This one was shot from a tri-pod with my 1.5 multiplier at 12X zoom. I did not get very many good shots out of 150!! I had trouble finding the nest from the tri-pod, if you got where there was good light the bird always seemed to be hidden by leaves. In this shot she had been working inside the nest for awhile & decided to rest and groom herself. Too bad she just showed me her backside! I hope to go back for some better shots later. I will post a photo as a work shop that shows how the nest is attached to the limbs. Thanks for viewing :} Don

This turned out very well here Don! I like the fact that you got her looking to the right! The nest is really interesting! Great job! Next time, climb the tree and wait...... HAHAHA!

Very good capture. Good sharpness and details.
With birds, I guess you have to take them as they give them :-).

Hi Don,
Great shot, good colours and sharpness, it looks like she has turned her back on you and is taking a peek over her shoulder to see if you have gone.

Well done Don.. I could say ..oh what a pitty he is showing us his backsite, but thats the life of a photographer, that what we can see is pleasant and sharp . Compliment also on the nice soft green tones present here .. Bye
John

Hi Donald! I love seeing this pic of an oriole for the first time. I bought one stuffed toy when I was visiting the Kauffman's house near Pittsburg. It chirps and I gave it to a special friend for remembrance. Thanxxx for sharing this. Very lovely details and colors.
Regards,
Freddie :)
PS: I put it in one of my faves :)
