[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This little sparrow was thirsty. Drinking from their favorite bird bath out of three I have. This is close to the house & the sparrows are so used to me & the dog they come for a drink even when we are close by. Sometimes we forget about the common sparrows when we seek bird photos but each varity has pretty markings. As near as I can tell this is a female House Sparrow. The male is slightly fatter & has a black breast. My pet name for them is Umpire Sparrow since their black breast looks like a baseball umpires vest. My bird book lists 36 varietys of sparrows for North America. I think the prettiest one that visits my feeder are the White Crowned Sparrows. Thanks to all view, critique, or workshop :} Don

Hi Don,
Splendid capture of this sparrow. Great colors and sharpness. And well framed. You are lucky that they are not afraid of you. Where I now live, there is a white cat with light blue eyes. Up to now, I have taken over 80 photos but the eyes are not coming out clear enough and the cat doesn't want to fellow mw in a more lighted area.
