I'm posting these colorful dragon boats to add yet another color to my US map here in TL. This time, it's in The National Historic Seaport in Baltimore, Maryland.
In the background is The National Aquarium w/ mega-size terrarium and aquatic biodiversity. Also an old Power Plant converted into commercial stablishments w/ Hardrock cafe, ESPN Zone, Barnes & Noble Bookseller to name a few. On the 3rd dragon from the right, a submarine can be seen floating on the Chesapeake Bay just in front of the convention center.
If you wanna visit this place, don't forget to sample their crab cakes and also choco fudge that is made in front of you on a thick slab of marble while the chef is singing and rapping. Yummm! :p

Composition:
POV: near the Constellation battleship
Time/Weather: near sundown/2°C
Exposure Time: 1/60

Quote of the Day:
"I do have strong convictions and political opinions, but I don’t think it’s necessary to imbue my photographic work with them. I use photography as a vessel for visual material to flow through, to encourage conversation with the viewer. I try to present a catalyst and invite viewers to tell their own stories." -Michael Kenna

Hi Freddie

Lovely work and very interesting notes. You made me want to hop on an aeroplane just to sample the fudge :-)

Great shot but something is missing... people.. were you the only one there or was this a lucky moment?

TFS regards Helen

Lovely colourful image Freddie,
I like the way the foreground boats lead your eye up towards the left centre where plenty is happening.
I wondered about whacking a wee bit off the very top but I think its fine just as it is.
Excellent work.
Steve

Nice colours Fred!

Hi Fred,
and colour it is indeed - Americans sure know how to market an atraction - although you are not doing a such a bad job yourself throwing in fudge made on a slab in front of you and not to forget the famous Chesapeake Bay crab cakes!
Beautiful - love it.

ces couleurs crèvent l'écran, bravo Fred!

Nice busy and colourful image Freddie, lots to look at. When I saw the title with the thumbnail I thought they were the racing Dragon boats of Hong Kong. What powers these boats, are they pedalled?
TFS,
Peter.

Hello Fred,

I liked the look, maybe for liking a lot of colors, I didn't think so there is who doesn't pass to take a look in these beauties. Different the boats and creative also!
Lovely work and very interesting notice.
Greetings!

Sérgio

Freddie! So you came all the way up to Baltimore, huh? I grew up in various suburbs of Baltimore. The harbour area is nice, but the surrounding parts are generally crap (very high in violent crime, and tons of drugs). All the same, nice shot.. and it's great to see my home city on TL!

I love the blue sky you added in PP. I think that the colors of the dragons are too saturated though. The overall composition is GREAT -- I love how the Hard Rock Cafe is just barely visible behind one of the supporting pillars of the World Trade Center building. The reflections in the puddle are also great. Nice shot, TFS!
