This shot was taken on a stretch of the old route 66 between Ash Fork and Seligman. This particular stretch has recently been resurfaced, unlike other parts that are now overgrown and impossible to drive.

PP Resized, sharpened and levels adjusted.

Dean, your probably thinking im just visiting you, because you visited me.. but no, this photo really jumped out at me..

As I sit here and look at it, it makes me feel im really on that road, just walking down the road, its amazing, as ones eye is really drawn into the photo. Nice vibrant foreground, with nice natural colours in the grasses and sky.
Well done on this one.

Cheers
Dawn.

Bonjour Dean,
L'opposition verticale (avec la perspective de la route), et horizontale (avec ces lignes de nuages) en fait une composition géniale !
Bravo !

Dean, this is rather elegant :)
Lovely 'thirds' compo, great sharpness with the feeling of the asphalt texture on the road.

I can see a car coming down the road..
It's obvious you got out of the way in time :) :)

Best regards, Daniel

Dean,
Although a thousand miles away, I live just a VERY short distance off this road. I think you have captured a wonderful POV here and a great cloud day. I see the approaching oncoming car and hope you got out of the way! BTW....did you drive on the "RIGHT" side of the road ? :)
I think this is a great image...the colors and composition really make this a beauty.
Scott

Hi Dean,
Nice shot, I like the way this shot shows that there is nothing for miles (so it seems)only the car comeing at you, I like the sky too, good colours and sharpness with a good POV, though I can't believe that a road as straight as this has a speed limit of 55Mph.
Tfs Andy

Hi Dean, this is certainly an eye catching photo. The composition, along with the contrasting colors of the road really leads us into the photo, very real looking...almost 3d. Very cool shot here Dean.

Lyndon

Now I REALLY like this Dean! The yellow stripe running up to the front of the pic is really nice! I'm getting my kicks!
