Small town USA!!!
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is'nt my usual kind of post, as i consider this just a snap shot of daily life as oppose to a carefully composed image, so before y'all start mocking my compo etc just think on!!! ;)
I wanted to share this as it was probably one of the favourite places I visited in the US, although we only stopped there for an hour or so for a little lunch. It was a very small town called Payson, like a little oasis in the desert, nothing for about 100 miles either side of this town, anyway's it was bustling with life and was just everthing I expected small town america to be like, the people were wonderful and were amazed that 2 Brits would even stop there, the town had a lot of hill billy charm about it, and i mean that in the nicest possible way.
PP resized, cropped, resharpened and slight saturation boost.
Please enjoy!! |

Hello Dean.
What I like in this photo is that there is plenty to look at and everything is really sharp. The red pick-up on the right is an eye-cather.

Hi Dean...
When I see this photo I do not think "small town USA" but a town that is being overtaken from the Franchises... i.e... Dairy Queen, McDonalds... and so on. Plus this one has a 4 lane highway.. .. our "small towns" are dying due to this better way and its sad. Next time you are in this town.. take the same photo and compare with the growth and lack of trees... oh OH BOY sounding a bit like a "tree hugger" oops... anyway :)
But your photo is very nice.. lots to see. Nice POV that brings us into the back of your photo....
Tricia
Dean,
This reminds me of the midwestern United States. New cities are built around "strips" of road that have (as Tricia said) franchises.
This is a very familiar looking POV and a photo of a slice of the new Americana. Not real proud of it but it's the way that it is!
I like the panoramic feel of this and your right, it's not your usual type post! The f/8 brought some good detail. We all have the right to post snapshots, as well as carefully planned out images.
Have you tried the Espresso from the states and if so, how does it differ from yours at home?
Glad to see some more of your stuff from the states.
