[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This amazing phenomenon is to be found in the very South tip of Sierra Nevada mountain range where the desert meets its foothills. I have no idea what is causing it, but I suspect the origin of the parent rock and the soil pH - allowing or repling the growth of certain plants.
Enjoy this first picture of my Sierra Nevada quest.

Petr, its been a while since I have checked your photo's, I'm just getting ready to head back to camp (as youth director)when I saw this.
Really like the pov on this, so much to see in this and the color and lighting contrast really stand out.
I bet a snow storm like your other pic would be welcome now.
