I snapped this photo of my sister Julie while she was busy taking her own photos of the wonderful view on our hike. You can just see the tip of Mount Hood in the background. This grassy area was so nice with little wildflowers everywhere, although we were still a bit early for the Indian Paintbrush plants to be out, they were only about 1-2 inches tall. We'll have to go back to get the full effect of the wildflowers blooming.
This photo was taken looking south along the Nick Eaton Ridge trail on our way down from Indian Point. It was a 9 mile round trip hike, some parts more like a climb. I wasn't sure if I could do it, but was quite proud of myself that we made it!!
Of course after we had to go to the Skamania Lodge and soak in the hot tubs to relieve sore muscles, and I'm sure I won't be able to walk tomorrow without some difficulty. All in the interest of getting in shape for our trip to Mexico in June!!
