A brief trip to my archives that I hope you won't mind too much.
Winter's morning sunrise over Red Rock Canyon:
Seen from the air just outside Las Vegas, on the way to Phoenix (my camera was still set for Eastern Standard instead of Pacific Standard Time).

This was the vision that wiped exhaustion from my heart and head that morning. I had been delayed in Boston by the end of a snowstorm the night before, missed the connecting flight from Las Vegas to San Luis Obispo, California. I slept for about three hours on top of the bed in the room the airline provided and then I was off again, rerouted to Phoenix, frustrated and exhausted to the point of tears -- until I saw this from the window of the air plane, with colours to outdo any Las Vegas casino light show.
Suddenly the rerouting was worth it, for I'd never have seen the sunrise over the mountains like this otherwise, nor known that the glittering lights of the city are but a pale reflection of the true beauty of the countryside.

Tech: adjusted levels and luminance in Image > Adjustments, resized for TL and sharpened edges only to prevent noise in the sky
Thanks for looking and I wish you many memories like this!

Hello Silk, my friend,

This is like a view of Heaven!
It is almost surreal with the misty tinge!
Only the aeroplane wing adds that sense of reality! Great!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Yep, That's sure to wake you up :-).
Excellent capture. Excellent view.

It's a beautiful scene and one that makes you stop and think how wonderful the world can be.
And that looks like the moon still up in the sky too.
Great view but what a terrible day you must have had!!

Hello Silke,

This arial photograph is fantastic. Warm hues are looking fabulous in this brilliant composition. This view has similarity of arial views of Hindukash ranges in Afghanistan. A beautiful presentation my friend, well done.

Many thanks for sharing this image.

I really like aerial photography and besides the wonderful colours and landscape you've captured here, the wing adds depth and an interesting extra element.

Very nice sunrise on the barren desert rocks. I love the haze below... Beautiful treat for all the misery to get there....

That is so true Silke - if you see nature like this the glittering city lights will pale in comparison - at least for me they do.
Air travel can be so exhausting; at the end you can no longer think straight.
Pictures like this you can dug up out of the archives any time - just love seeing this (my neck is always twisted if I have been on a plane - I have to see what's out there).
TFS this moment with us.
Els

Hi Silke, my trips across to the mainland are usually cloudy affairs and those to Western Australia are mostly across the Great Australian Bight so no scenes such as this. Very well done and as you say, worth it. Lovely red tones and fine detail. TFS,
David

Hallo Silke,
wow, ist das eine Aussicht, so ein Bild kann man nur aus dem Fugzeug machen. Es ist eine fantastische Aufnahme, wenn alle Deine Archivbilder so schön sind da warte ich auf weitere.

Hello Silke, this is stunning! The view, the sharpness and the colours! I did some photos from the plane and I didn't achieve something half as nice as this one!
I have ice cristal in the window because of the altitude. And the windows have colour shades in them.

And the hills are so sharp!

Well done! Take care, Yan :)

Ps: many thx for your crit on "Hayley's Point - Ontario" :)

Bonjour Silke.
C'est toujours très beau les photos aériennes...
Belle lumière et pas de reflet du hublot...
Bravo !
