[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If you've been walking around San Francisco lately, it may look like some artists have left their hearts in San Francisco. These hearts are part of a project aimed at nurturing artistic expression in San Francisco while also helping to raise money for the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation. The goal is to raise one million dollars for the Foundation whose purpose is to fund projects that will enhance patient care and comfort at San Francisco General Hospital.
The first two hearts were unveiled on Valentine's Day, 2004, and since then 130 artists have transformed 5-foot heart sculptures into unique works of art. Nearly all of them are now completed and can be seen in various public locales throughout San Francisco, including parks, sidewalks, street corners, and businesses. Each heart is supported by a sponsor.
This heart was photographed at the corner of Post Street and Powell Street on Union Square

Hi Andre,

Nice shot. Good exposure and nice colors. I like how you got a bit of the city scene as well. It gives a sense of place. I haven't seen this heart before. Have you seen them all, yourself? There are two in the Presidio by Fort. Pt...by the gift shop, between the bathrooms that have their own building, and, there is one I've seen in the Castro. That one is not a "puffy" heart, though.

Thanks for sharing!
Richard
