[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I wanted to try a night shot using only a small flash to light a large object and combining several different exposures in photoshop. There are 18 separate exposures that make up this image. They were combined using lighten mode. A couple of the exosures have an adjustment layer used as a clipping maske on them to alter the color to give the orange & blue glow. The morning I planned to this, I awoke to an electrical storm. Not too smart standing on top of a hill with a metal tripod in an electrical storm, but it added a nice touch.

Really interesting effect and a creative technique, although I'd expect no less from you ;-)
The lightning flashes in the background give a Dr Frankenstein feel to this and the lighting of the central object does have a very sci-fi look.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

It is very fantastic.
Excellent control of light, technique and POV.
Well done.
Congratulations.

Hi Chuck,
WOW! I did not know that NASA had the project to send a balloon of soccer in space! :)
Very creative work! Your patience paid you, the mood is so strange, irreal like science-fiction movies especially with the fortuitous electrical storm. I like the colors well contrasted and enhanced by the white and subtle blue tones. Very well done! Annie

Hi Chuck

Fantastic capture of the distant lightning bolts, with a wonderful unworldly coloured sky & a definite sci fi look & feel. Tfs!

Very fine result, Chuck. An image that took a lot of work to produce. And some risk too!
Take care.

Putting a very large metal pole in the ground next to you would be a lot smarter, Chuck (☺_☺).
Another special one. I particularly like the fish-eye effect, the lightnings and the work you did on the colours. But calling a football (or a soccer ball) science is a bit overdone, I think.

Some interesting shot here.

Nice POV, wide angle make is look very spacious here.

Well done.
Tom

Superb colours and details -- I love the way the boll stands against the sky
PoV creates some interesting lead-lines

i love it! great job and concept! looks like something is about to go wrong...=)

Amazing, as always! You put a lot of effort into your work.
Your note about the tripod reminds me of the priest in the movie Caddyshack. Glad you survived to tell the tale....what we wouldn't do for art.....
Cheers
Otto
