Forests and Trees.

Walking along the road to the Fern Lake Trail
Rocky Mountain National Park

Andrew and I perceive the world in such different ways.

I am always looking for the forest .. He always sees the intricate beauty of the trees.

Conceptualizing generalizations is often so difficult for him .. at 14 he still would put his hand on a hot burner.

But he has shown me that there is often such beauty in the trees that we who spend our time glancing at the forest walk right by and never see. In our fascination with grandness we miss the infinite beauty of the world.

Technical Stuff:
I am just starting to play with this level of processing ..

The big technical challenge was finding the right amount of opacity of the upper layer to get what I wanted.

Then I found I had to readjust the saturation and contrast of the background to further fine tune the interaction. ... and then again tune contrast and saturation after I had flattened it.

The thing that I find the most interesting and suprising is how the larger the image is the more it becomes about the wood and the less about the eye.

Hi John
I think your pp wrok really paid off... I love how we see the forest.. and the eye is just great to go with your very well written notes...

Tricia

Extremely imaginative and creative picture, I love the idea of the two different perceptions being catered for in the one shot. Great PP work
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Wow... !!!! good shotte, belle image de créativité. la perception de l'oeil est magique ,travail de pro.. super, I like this picture ... be sure.. salutations and thank again for your visit.. Réal.

It's really strong! I understand you hesitation.. The level of transparence is the thing i came back the more often in my creation... Often it start well... but as theyre is some change. you realize... another level of transparance will have more impact!
Your tone mix impress me a lot with that result! It could make a good transition for a video game change of view... THe play of transparence... Good suggestion for an introspection...
Let me show you the word with my eyes... We all have a way think near that by photo :)

Hi John,
Amazing PP work! True, the bigger the image the less you see the eye which is what caught my immediate attention!!
Very good composition and idea.

Interesting indeed to see how the thumbnail and full-sized images change -- Seeing the forest for the trees, I guess.
Great posting with superb colours and most imaginative composition and PP work.

You are so right - looking at the thumbnail I could see the eye clearly, well almost clearly. But once the image was open the eye became more difficult to identify. Mmmmmm. Don't know why. Facinating concept to overlay an eye - notes are very helpful in that regard.
