[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I drove up to a nice little waterfall area where a friend said there was one fairly close to the road. It took some doing and here I found it. My peace was interrupted by some logging in the area, unfortunately.

pp-sized and resharpened for uploading. cropped a bit of the right, fixed the tilt angle and enhanced color by a few percent. I was shooting this one with my IS USM 75-300mm lens, fairly nice although the best it does is when steadied slightly by a tree/rock or rail of some kind and the mfr does not recommend a tripod.

Nice sharpness and good composition here Gary. I do find it a little overexposed at the base of the waterfall, with your chosen shutter speed maybe a smaller aperture would have saved it?
I can also see a tighter crop and a 'cinema' type frame giving this some extra finess, what do you reckon?
Nice work overall

Hi Gary,

nice attepmt. I like the composition with qthe waterfall on the strong line. Nice blur on water, though my personal taste is significantly slower shutter speed (goes in seconds) - but this of course I do not discuss. Personal taste. Some issues here though. Overburned water is the primary one, but also POV you have chosen weakens a bit the photo: on one hand there area at the bottom disturbing sticks and rocks, on the other, there is beautiful, bent diagonally green rock, closing the stream at it's visible to us end. Unfortunately it's cut in the middle. If you'd approach a little closer and raised the lens, would be composition omitting these problems imo. Nice colours across the whole shot. tfs

Hi,
This waterfall is so beauty.
Great shot and fantastic water.
well done,
best reagers,Brankica

Hi gary,
I have to agree with Marek on all his points and I need to add that I find the blue color cast on parts of the water is also bothering. it seems that the exposure is off. OE parts in water and the leaves and twigs.
I am not sure what you ment with the mfr does not recommend a tripod. But this photo needed one. It would allow you to have a lower ISO and a much smaller aperture, causing to have a better shutter speed for the water and more details in the entire composition.
