even the brightest most beautiful flowers once lived in the cruel dark underworld awaiting their chance to break through to the light and reach for the shining sun..

a little piece of digital 'art therapy' for a friend who's having a rough time.. the light will draw your bloom out of the dark to feel the sun once again :)

it may not be an old master but i hope it might bring new smiles ^_^

***

the lilies were shot at night on high exposure without flash or room lighting and only a lamp shining on them, focus was set at macro mode and the camera was positioned about 2 feet away

post processing:
* very slightly cropped, resized and sharpened
* faint ridges from the wall behind the lilies cloned out
* a few pollen specks and marks on the petals cloned out (lily pollen is potent stuff!)
* curves adjusted to brighten
* the photoshop 'sponge' artistic filter applied at the following settings: brushstroke 0, definition 3, smoothness 1
* levels adjusted to increase depth and contrast
* text added with the following styles & settings applied: drop shadow, bevel & emboss (set to contour) satin, colour overlay
* framed & signed

hugs to all as we all need them.. and a special big one to Miss Z :-)

Hi Ayda,

Even Vincent van Gogh can’t do it better ;-) Nice piece of artwork you made for your friend Ayda, you seems to me as a very sociable woman. Thanks for share and you get from me tomorrow two smiles ^_^

Very nice idea .... AGAIN. You keep coming in each time with some very nice and creative ways of expression. I am sure ZTO is much appreciative of your efforts, as we are all. Regards

Hi Ayda
In a delicate way this indeed is a composition with an uplifting character - also lightin up the dreary weather we have in Holland now. I like the PP here also, it's like an impressionistic still life - just lovely. Xcellent job :-)
Regards from Rotterdam and take care.
Bert

Hi Ayda, you have a lot of good concepts and motivation. I think you've done well here, but it is a little over processed. If the background was smoothed out a bit, I think it would be even better

Absolutely to my liking, well applied technique.
What are you then ? A young mistress ? ;-)
Kind regards
