Searching for....? There were so many changes going on in our lives at this time. We had just moved from Hawaii and were in limbo with finding a home, new schools, ect.... It was an even bigger adjustment for my daughter who would be heading off to college in the fall. Home would never be the same again.
Taken with my Canon XT Rebel, cropped, switched to B&W, resized to TL specs and sharpened.

Nice shot, Deb, tiny bit of noise but excellent compo, good land/sky ratio and model placed to left third, all in all very good. Good mood shot, too, of the dilemma a move causes. As a kid, I dreaded every move we made! TFS

Very good composition, nice placement of subject, and a perfectly level horizon!

I like the b&w and grain added to this shot, it gives a real sense of mood and has certainly added a mood of uncertainty.

Well done
Rew

Hello Debbie,
A photo that perfectly renders the mood you wanted to convey. A sense of (temporary?) emptiness and of... searching, thanks to the way this person is looking to the oncoming waves and thanks to the hazy-looking B&W (with much "grain" - noise some will say, but I like this kind of treatment).
Nice work!
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Hello Debbie,
This is a fine composition, with a sad mood to it... the tone is enhanced by the black and white!
The powerful ocean washing the shore has something eternal about it, while the girl walking is for the moment only...
Good diagonal lines in the composition!
Greetings,

Hi Debbie and welcome to TL. An excellent conversion and like Rew I agree about the grain and the tones. Nicely composed and good detail. TFS,
David
