[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
They were the Dog Days of summer. . .

I haven't posted to TL in a long time. I've been focusing on TE, after taking a break from that site as well. I'm here today because this photo was rejected for not being within the idea of TE, so I thought I'd put it up here, just because I think it has merit. I'm not going to rehash debates about whether this is a pet or not, and whether or not the image of a dog is any more a part of learning about the world than, say, a photo of a child or a building. I'll just say that this was part of a series about the Lowcountry of South Carolina and Georgia -- things I saw while traveling there. I don't know this dog or the dog's owner. I don't know if this is a pet dog, but I will respectfully insist that this is not a "pet" photo. It is a photo of a sight I saw in the world while traveling. If you happen to come across this posting, I hope you enjoy it as as a photograph, if not as a photograph of a dog. My best regards.

Hehe ... hi Hugh, nice to see a post from you again after so long.

Yeah, I know how frustrating it can be when the subject of a photo is misinterpreted, it almost feels like a witch-hunt, all it takes is an accuser, and the accuser is guilty unless they can prove themselves innocent.

Regarding the photo ... well, I don't like dogs, but I think it's well taken with good metering and good sharpness. And it's a valid commentary of your travels.
