been feeling rather sad and lonely lately (not to mention that the electricity in my apartment went out yesterday!) so i thought the darker side of the bloom seemed appropriate..

***

the same lilies here as in my last post - they were shot at night on a high exposure setting without flash or room lighting and only a lamp shining on them, focus was set at macro mode and the camera was positioned about 2 feet away

post processing:
* cropped, resized and sharpened
* faint ridges from the wall behind the lilies cloned out
* a few pollen specks and marks on the petals cloned out
* curves adjusted to brighten
* the photoshop 'dark strokes' brushstrokes filter applied at low intensity
* levels adjusted to increase depth, luminosity and contrast
* framed & signed

hope you all had a great easter weekend and i look forward to trying to get back in the swing of things amongts all you lovely TL'ers :)

p.s.. belated happy birthday TL!!!

I am so sorry you are feeling down Ayda. Let me know if ther is anything i can do. A big big hug for you sweethart and hopes that you will be better feel better soon. Another lovely post Ayda, and with your sensetive touch to it. It is beautifull, as you ;-)

but if we image a light trace of colour inside the lilium we can image this as a trace of hope?
We have each one our dark side, we can decide to meet it or to decide to turn away the head...
I think if we decide to know our dark side we can see also in it traces of colours....
I like this picture, it's a good picture
Paolo

intriguing patterns in this shot

ayda...the filter on this is appropriate with the black smudging out the white as the sad emotions smudge out the happy emotions. and i like that you were able to keep so much detail in the flowers.
i think paul is right, we do all have a dark and light side and sometimes you have to embrace the shadow in order to overcome it...

It's great to have you back Ayda! This is another beautiful work! I love all these compositions you do with flowers and though this one results of a complicated moment in your life I am just so damn insensitive that I couldn't help loving it ;-) I hope that things really start changing for you and that life will go the way you want it, but I sure will miss these dark postings of yours :-) Just kidding here!! Take care of yourself will you??
Ana

Oops! my smileys are still in the freezer, but as soon as they defrost, you'll see what a great fresh green one I'll bring you :-)

Looks like a painting and reflects perfectly your emotions right now.Despite the dark,the sadness,you didn't loose your sensitivity and delicacy.Has others have already mention,everyone has a dark side.Like the moon...and I bet you'll be in your full moon very soon.

Nice translated, your note into a darker picture. From sharper black to a grey part, nice done, hope you feel better soon again, but I think so, dear Ayda.....

Hi Ayda,
hope you're feeling a bit better after creating such a beautiful shot ;-) Art always helps the human soul to heal!!
Love the lilies and the pp work you made is really very good, and the frame compliments the beauty of the composition.
Well done and.. be well!!
Marisa

Very nicely done, Ayda. Your PP work is excellent. TFS!

Hi Ayda,
You sure know your pp work. Excellent this one: dreamy and looks like the blooms are cut out of the "black paper".
Regards,
Paul
