Just another snapshot I took from the tree stand, during last weekend's deer opener in Minnesota.
This curious squirrel ended up over in my tree, and he climbed down to within about six feet of my head. He stayed there looking me over for long enough for me to take his picture, but the sky was so bright, a decent shot was impossible. So, this picture of him on a branch across from me is a little easier on the eyes.
I was happy to have some company out there, but the squirrels' frolicking about in the leaves below can play tricks on the ears. Sometimes they sound like people stomping about, and sometimes they sound like a sneaking deer.
It was like a squirrel village that day, I counted six of them within visual range of me at many different times throughout the day. They know that winter is coming, and they are frantic with their preparations.
I know it's not the most artistic shot, but I was slightly bored, and I haven't taken pictures of much else lately due to time conflicts between work and school. |

Nicely done.
With all the lines and textures around the subject, it looks good centred (for a change).
The slight splashes of colour look great too.
Good job on the focus.
i like how he is nicely framed by the branches and few dead leaves...he also blends in quite well to his surroundings...i agree that the center composition looks good...simple but effecitve...peace***
