[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot on a cold October Day outside of my garden. It is a macro shot of some thing... I am unsure what. :)

So I titled it "Poke" since the edges sort of look sharp. Just a fun shot.. anything is still welcome though. Suggestions, questions, or comments.


I have not been posting regularly because I have been up to my neck in school work and my term paper as well. I had to write a 10-12 page paper. :)

Hello Leanne,
I've "strolled" through your latest macro-series. Three quality photos, but this is the one I prefer. The less spectacular perhaps, but the most intense, because the minimalistic composition and the soft colours give our eyes some rest and, at the same time, draw our attention towards the main subject(s) of your photo. I like the peculiar DOF here, and the fact that this seed almost looks like a strange insect preparing to jump away. It could even be a "minimalistic" hedgehog ;o). Oh, my imagination runs wild!

Nice little "poke", I agree with viawia that it is a seed, but it looks like some dangerous science fiction thing.. :-)
At first i was a little doubtful about the limited DOF, but it is ok on this picture. And the background is perfectly blurred.

Hi Leanne, this is a very nice macro. I'm not sure of the plant/seed but I know I've seen it before for sure. Very good focus with a pleasant shallow DOF bluring the bg very nicely. Though the day was cold when you took this, the colors and lighting has a warm look making it very attractive. Nice work Leanne.
