feeling pretty abstract at the moment.. so voila!
although the motive behind this post is another & very important one..

so this is partly dedicated to Paolo (paul_bk)

those who know me know i'm a huge football fan.. (real football that is!) so recently i asked him as he lives near Milan, if he followed the beautiful game and if he supported one of the 2 Milan teams who had played a very big match that day, well.. in his reply he speculated on what my team was.. then suggested 2 he thought it might be which were as far away from who i actually support as you can possibly get!! ihih i was positively offended!! (just kidding :D) but Paolo come on.. seeing as both teams lost this week (enter wicked laugh here) do you think i would be writing so enthusiastically about football if i was an interista or juventina?? (oooh what a terrible thought...) so i felt compelled to set the record straight and display my true colours.. ^_^

ok enough sillyness! this shot was composed of a black ridged velvet skirt of mine & some red jacquard fabric folded & positioned over it, this lovely red material is actually one of the reasons i've been having so many problems taking self portraits recently.. i love it so much that i used it to make these great panel curtains for the windows either side of the huge window in the room where i usually take pictures.. so if i shoot during the day when there's light coming through those red panels... well the naked i can't really see how it effects the colour and light balance but the camera sure can! and add to that the fact that i have very fair skin that tends to reflect colour a lot and also bright red hair.. it becomes a real nightmare to get good results! well.. i love those curtains and don't want to take them down but i think i've come up with an idea to resolve the problem.. it'll be a bit annoying but it's worth it as i've been struggling so much this problem.. hence why i haven't posted many self portraits till now (although i do have a few coming up..) but anyway.. compromise as ever is the key! :-)

***

* shot freehand about 10-12 inches away resting the camera on the footboard of the bed to steady, taken with strong overhead light & some daylight, long exposure, no flash and in macro mode
* resized, rotated & cropped
* unsharp mask & reds saturation increased a bit
* a few specks of dust and distracting reflections on the black velvet cloned out
* usm again then framed & signed

hope you all have a beautiful, colourful and true day dear TL'ers :-)

I like it-but this abstract to me is simple I think, red-orange and black, halloween comes to mind and I think that this shot needs a focal point the frame is black and a little large but that is minor I think also the note is good.

Una vera tiffosi!! Brava!!! Congratulazioni sulla vittoria 2-0 del vostro rosso-neri sopra il povero inter ;-)
It's quite an interesting abstract. There's something oriental about it, don't ask me why... it's just the feeling I get.
Interesting indeed.
Ciao cara.

Nice graphical abstract dear with strong colours...and lack of colours in the black. It is nice, different from what we usually see from you but i like it. Itis a very creative way of using fabric. Hope all is well dear. That you have gotten some sleep. I'm on a down day so i won't write so much today.

Hugs
Zanrda

Hi Ayda,
Nice abstract. The colors are good. And, I also like the contrast in textures. Nice frame.
Well done. Funny note. ;P
Richard

Hi Ayda, lovely graphic capture here. The sheen, and texture of this fabric is very well captuerd. It takes a well adjusted screen to enjoy the dark fabric in the background - don't worry i have - and the combination is striking. The frame is very well advised too.
Oh yes, before I forget to mention it - I like y'r long stream of consiciousness-like note too. Have a great weekend Ayda & let's be careful out there ;-)
Regards from Rotterdam,
Bert

Beautiful abstract composition, with nice colors very well ballanced, specially with the curved diagonal.
Well done!

Simply " ART ".
I like it very much.

Well Ayda, when I saw teh thunb I said "what a wonderfull simple abstract picture... Ohh is from my dear friend Ayda... I have to visit it and leave a note too"... then I discovered thisis for me....
so this picture is black and red... and my face totally red!!!
About football team..... milanista.... well ... I have to confess a little thing... when i was young (very young) I was ... interista.... yes... but when I grow up I loosed any interest in football..... (it happened many years ago before the last time Inter winned the italian championship)....
Now I forgive you are milanista because I like very much this picture... and I give you also 2 points to demostrate it
Well done my friend
Paolo ;-)))

Ton sur ton efficacement abstrait ... c'est beau!
Antonio

Ayda,

I like the composition, it's simple but strong. It's nice to hear you're a footbal fan, the most women dislike it ;-)
Well done Ayda!!

Jos

Respect for the use of this unusual format (side ratio).
