Saguaro cacti are amazing organisms.
They survive impossibly harsh conditions. They live off practically nothing, yet build bodies to last centuries.
I found this specimen tree (yes it is 50' tall cactus tree form with wooden inner structure and it is Arizona State symbol)in a remote area NE of Phoenix.
Its magnificence enchanted me. It had over 20 arms 6' tall and larger and it must be over 300 years old and I estimate its weight well over 20 tuns.
Enjoy this piece of Art of Nature - Enjoy and Preserve.
Have a great day and come to visit this part of wonderful world. |

Thanks for the memory, Petr. I grew up around there so I've been. The b/w didn't do anything for me, though as well as the dual lighting, I'm not sure what that was about, to be sure. The compo is good. 'Where in the world is Tortilla Flats?' (old post card) Well, now we know! I remember the large lake also, right by there.
