From the Heart of My Bottom... :)
I personally want to greet you all...

Happy Holidays! :)

From my very personal stock photo, I'm sharing my butt face without any mask and all, in 10sec time delay, this yuletide season :)

POV, against the light, from a high scaffolding on the observation deck, Niagara Falls, US side :)

There's still a lot of ice all over, rendering the ground and floors very slippery when wet :)

I did another version in WS to complete the beach scene. Check it out HERE. Tell me which is better :)

Composition:
Model: Canon PowerShot A640
Exposure Time: 1/1002
F-Stop: f/4.0
Focal Length: 7300/1000 mm
Metering Mode: Pattern

Pp work:
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3
1. rotate and crop
2. tweak colors and reveal more blue for the falls
3. add canvass size
4. add Layers with pictures of sepia and B&W
5. add shadows automatically
6. add sand background, starfish (duplicate & resize) and text
7. merge Layers and resize
8. sharpen some areas and resize for TL

Quote of the Day:
"When exposures last hours rather than fractions of a second, there is much time for watching. Sometimes it is a basic concern for security but at others it is a more meditational activity. I watch the sky and imagine what patterns the clouds and stars will make on my film. I watch the water, the leaves on the trees, passing cars, changing shadows, smoke from chimneys, whatever is around. Wind, rain, mist, etc., all have effects on the eventual image. We live pretty fast-paced lives so it is a luxury to be able to slow down and better appreciate some of the more subtle effects of nature that we can so easily miss or take for granted." -Michael Kenna

Hello Freddie
I was at the falls a week ago and I should have asked you before I went where you found this super PoV. I thought it would be obvious when I went but I never saw it.
Since I am planning to go back again later this month (when the weather is better), could you please tell me from where this was shot?
Thanks
silke
:D
P.S. You seem to have accidentally put this in the "pets" category. I am sure you will want to correct that.

So you were at the Niagara falls in April Frau.. ehhh Freddie, wearing a T-shirt not showing any cold, while ice is around you? You must have catch a terrible cold afterwards, didn't you?

One question: how far was the tripod from you while taking this "self portrait'? And at what height is was at least 10 feet, the picture is taken from above! Are you cheating again Freddie?

One more additional question to you: what is your height? And don't tell me you are 6'5"

Hans

Alfred,
Like Silke & Hans, I think this shot is not possible to be a self-portrait!
I waited for your super detailed response to Hans but it didn't come. 3 members asked about the POV and NO answers.
Why would you hide the fact that you didn't take the photo Alfred? Is it THAT important to post a photo of yourself where you have to say you took it. The last time I took some time to do a WS of the skittles incident. It wasn't a self-portrait so it wasn't removed. I have photos of this place and the shot isn't possible to be a self timer shot, it had to be handheld by someone!
What do you have to hide?
