| I've finally come out of my own winter's dormancy along with my garden. These are catkins, the flowers on a willow. This willow is salix integra 'Hakuro Nishiki', also called dappled willow. It has beautiful tri-color variegated foliage in pinks, greens and whites. It's easy to miss the color on the catkins in early spring, though insects enjoy them whether or not we notice. |
