Sledding the golf course
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| I took this photo of my 4 year old daughter Gracie and my husband on the golf course yesterday. It was Gracie's first experience with sledding, we used a trash can lid because we live in the South and it never snows, LOL! |

Hmm, Alli. I'm not sure about this one. Somehow, this looks more like a photo for a family album than like a "daily life" shot.
I'll try to explain myself: in my opinion, your photo doesn't "transcend" the moment of fun you were having, so it "tells" less to people who weren't there. I feel it lacks a touch of "universality".
Difficult to do suggestions on the basis of this photo, but I would suggest you'd return to that place another time (not hard a job, as it's fun ;o)) and that you'd try a more striking composition and/or a less disturbing background, in order to make the main subject(s) of the photo really pop out. There is photographic potential in all the things taking place on that golf course.
Said this, I can fully understand why you like this photo and, perhaps, your aim was not to shoot something different than just an "anecdotic" picture. So, I hope you won't mind my comment. After all, it's only my personal opinion and, of course, you are free to (dis)agree ;o).
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
My parents e-mailed my and told me it was snowing down in Mississippi and that's about what I assumed it looked like, a little bit of ice on grass. You should come up to Nebraska to see LOTS of snow, but there aren't many hills to sled down. Glad to see you enjoyed it and your daughter got to get out and experience sledding! Hope you have a great week.
