[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It might be a few days again before we break the freezing mark, after an extended stretch here in northeast Wisconsin with single digits and sub-zero wind chills. But let just a touch of warmth and the rising sun touch the Fox River here in Appleton, and it's not long before one can "see the river's breath." There by the bridge, with its pillars faintly visible in the mist, the river is moving freely a bit. Here closer to the shore, there's still a veneer of ice and a layer, thinner still, of snow resting upon it.

On the technical side here, I was trying to meter for the condensation, with some white balance for the snow. The result is a pretty faithful rendition of what I saw early yesterday morning.

Very beautifully done! I like your expression : one can "see the river's breath." You capture this atmosphere so well! Excelelnt composition and colors wit fine details on the branches of the trees. Bravo! Annie

Hi Jim,
I am still liking the winter sunrise colors which, along with the "river's breath," make a perfect backdrop for the tiniest of branches, sharply caught. A poetic title as well.
Thanks for sharing,
Karen

Hi Jim,
clever title! Great colours in the sky and slight pastel colours in the snow as well. It looks very cold, we never get any snow down here just rain :)
