Nature or Civilization

Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Naperville.
Even in the subzero weather hearty souls are walking or skiing the 13 miles of trails the wind through remote grasslands and sometimes, like in this image, very near to civilization. This lone hiker is walking the trails, bundled up against the cold, seemingly unaware of the civilization on the other side of the high grass. |

Hi man,
First of all let me congratulate you on your D300. I am going to buy one in a few days. How do you like the result?
As for your photograph. A well balanced composition. The boy in the low centre gives a depth to the photograph, a seance of direction. Excellent details in the snow.

great lines and composition...the trail leads the eye nicely through the photo...great contrast between the person and the snow...lucky they wore dark colors...great everyday life capture...peace***

Must be a popular trail, judging by all the tracks. Glad the hiker is not stranded in the cold:) The sky looks rather wintry yet, so wouldn't be surprised if more snow lands on this scene. Nice shot of everyday life in snow country:)
A well converted image Rick. Good POV, lovely light and stunning all over detail. TFS,
David
