it's always pretty hard when you've not posted for several days to jump back into it again.. aside from the usual battles with confidence demons who prey on you more when you're less active with more space to let them in.. even aside from those demons i'm never quite sure what to post after a little absence.. do i go in with a bang! or perhaps slip back in quietly and gently and feel my way back into the rhythm.. i tend to go for the latter choice :-)

so nothing too intense or soul exploring today.. even better! another homage to my wonderful bundle of joy! my beautiful cuddle bug Bodmin who keeps my soul explorable with his precious companionship.. here he is in his absolute favorite spot which is half sunk down between the 2 pillows of my bed and still managing to take up most of both! if only this photo could begin to do justice to how adorable he looks when he does such things... it's a shame his jet black features make him so hard to photograph.. but trust me... he'd drive anyone crazy with his shameless relentless cuteness! ihihih :D

a special dedication to Carmem (carmem_busko) and her kitties who honored Bodmin and i by dedicating to us a beautiful shot of her lovely Raissa this weekend! :-)

***

shot this the other morning after i carefully got out of bed trying not to disturb him and creeped over to get the camera.. it was so hard to shoot as he looked so beautiful and impossibly cute i couldn't stop giggling and making all those cooing and awwing noises! ihih but i got a few done.. among which this close up with that fantastic sticking up foot shot!! (the other one is stretched out by his tail) oh cat paws totally rule.... ihihih

* cropped, resized, made grayscale, cloned out a few glare spots from the flash on his super shiny fur
* adjusted levels and applied a film grain art effect to make the shot more 'arty' ihih
* converted back to RGB mode and applied USM twice to increase heavy graininess
* framed & signed

so i re-enter the fold with my bundle of joy & beautiful blackness.. i promise i'll post a shot him where you can actually see his pretty face at some point!

hugs to all from me and Bod ^_^

Good shot I like the foot standing out in this photo his toes make a good focal point. He looks quite comfortable and his foot kind of looks like he is trying to block his face from the camera. He is probably saying no Pictures before I have my coffee.lol

Special and nice!

I like the dead-white pillows, the crop, and the graininess.

Regards,
Garo

Difficult isn't it, photographing a black cat lying between white pillows:-))
A documentary-shot the way how you've created this one with the PP. The pose of the cat is indeed one to cuddle it for the next three hours, what a lovely and lazy position.
The foot, that soft foot, is nice and I'm imaging that this is moving "in and out" constantly when you talk to him. Funny shot and please, give your "wonderful bundle of joy"(how nice this name for him) a BIG, BIG hug from me, dear Ayda (and one for you too:-))

in the tumb I thought it was a fox with his big tail..... the foot in this way seems also in a friedly attitude, like a peace sign....
Ayda I agree with Quark, it's very difficult to shot a black cat in white pillows and you have really well done it with your PP.
My compliments
Paolo

I relate to the process (and giggles) as much as to the subject. Well done, love the puddy foot!
