Comin' 'round the bend
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this the other day as I ventured out with my camera after several days of cabin fever. The snow, until then, had been too deep for me to tramp through. It finally melted enough for me to at least head out of the house.
(With my mom so ill, I didn't even come up to my apt. to visit this site - though it might've helped my sanity! She's home now and we take it day by day. For the past few weeks, I've been her caretaker, making sure she gets enough formula through her feeding tube. Now that it's out, I have a tad more freedom, though I still need to ensure she gets enough to eat - enough about that - just wanted to explain my absence)
I liked the angle as the train came around the bend, and even though I have some that are much closer, I liked seeing the snow and trees in this particular shot. We've been bogged down with several feet of snow and they've had people clearing the tracks of snow for days so trains could go through. As much as I love getting out and taking these photos, I realized I was glad not to be the one to have to brave the elements for the trains - that is, using snow blowers to clear the tracks. To me, this definitely says winter. I hope you enjoy. |

I am sorry to read about your Mom being so ill, just the fact that you are around to take care of her must be very reassuring to her.
Your photo is very sharp with good POW and that hot steam coming out really adds to the photo.

Hi Kathy,
Sorry to hear about your mum I hope she starts to recover soon.
Good image, I like the heat haze coming from the engine and the tilted compostion works well too.
Cheers
Tom
