[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thought I would post something a little different for a change. This was a quick shot and framing of the abundant Tule Elk that inhabit Tomales Bay State Park. Tomales is adjacent to the Pt Reyes National Seashore. To get to it you would take mostly the same route you would to get to Pt Reyes.

I finally got around to taking a close look at these pictures and obviously what stood out for me was the little guy's tongue. So now you can enjoy it too.

Note:
This park is one of 48 state parks that are scheduled to be closed this summer due to state budget issues. Many grassroots organizations like this one are fighting to save the parks from this fate.

PP: Processed from RAW in Capture NX. Minor exposure adjustment, re-size for TL, and USM.

Cool to get a little group like this in the same shot Mike!
Good aperture setting and light manahement, looks like it was a very bright sunny day? I guess you know this but if the main focus wasn't so central in the frame it may have enhanced the shot. But the tones on the Elks are great and well captured and are a great contrast to the grass. It's fun to try something different, i try to do that too whenever possible.

Have a good day Mike!

Chuckle...looks like someone tasted something they didn't like:) Closing the park this summer?!...that's terrible news. Now, THAT is something else to stick your tongue out about. Anyway, I enjoyed seeing this shot and the tule elk enjoying the local buffet. Well done.

Mornin Mike
This is a bit os a sift in subject matter, but a good one. The Elk must have there winter coats on. Like the little guy - looks like some of the adults have ear tags. Nice composition.

Hi Mike,
Wonderful spring time capture of the young elk grazing peacefully on the thick treen grass. Excellent details and sharpness to this fine image.
