[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
These yellow flowers are blossoming on a bush in my garden. They seemed like a good subject to try out my new macro lens. Another learning curve:)

PP: cropped top and right sides, resized, sharpened, added border.

Hi Karen
Beautiful macro shot, superb sharpness, perfect light, great composition, shortly - perfect shot - perfect work, TFS
Jens.

Masterful macro shot Karen!
You placed the flower perfectly off to the side,
great that you used a tripod, really clear and wonderful detail.
Congrats on the new lens!
- Vincent

I love this Karen! The clarity and crop is great- what caught my eye was the color most of all. Cool shadows captured as well.

Good choice to test your new class - focus is spot on Karen - you will enjoy the new hardware. have a good weekend.

Karen,
I like the use of light here, It's subtle which makes it dramatic in my opinion. I like the tight composition. The texture and shapes that the center of the flower displays is superb. If I could make an improvement, I wouldn't have included the frame (personal choice) and I would have shot this at f/7 or f/8 to get some additional focus on the petal that points to the lower left hand corner. I really enjoy this photograph. Good work,
Scott

Hi Karen, I like the brilliance of the yellow in this flower. I also like the contrast of the black background and the way the shadows fall on the petals.

I personally do not think the white frame adds anything to the photo. I would try perhaps a black one, or none at all. Just my opinion.

Welcome Spring!

tfs, Lisa

Hi Karen !
the exposure looks very well handled !
Placement of the flower is also clever too.
nice compositional/spatial result :-)

Well done. Best regards, Daniel

Well presented macro, very sharp, good colour and good composition with the tight crop. The eye is lead to the center of the flower.

Tibi

Hi again Karen,
Needed to come and check out this beauty for myself ,its position off center makes this shot.Great crop, no distraction at all from the dark BG allowing the yellow to appear more intense, more vivid. The use of higher focal though thus lower speed (it would not be a problem with all that light )to obtain a tad more depth would be beneficial as to get even more details like on the petals for instance.Gorgeous weather you have in your region, as your photo data states it was taken not long ago right? Lucky you! We're buried in 10 feet of snow up here!
TFS,
Carol
