Hello Lynne
I know what you mean about seeing something that looks awesome and then pulling over the car to capture it. The challenge here is the dynamic light before you - the bright sky and dark landscape. The top left looks a bit overexposed so perhaps a faster shutter speed would have kept that light under control and also capture the rays a bit more distinctly. You might lose some detail in the ground but you would get stronger rays. A good compromise.
TFS!

Hello Lynne,
Sometimes when you see the sunrays coming through the clouds, the effect is totally breathtaking!
I think the composition, the shafts of light and the misty trees look super.
I am quite sure that Mike's advice is very good.
I have had a little play in Photo Shop to see if I can help there. I hope you will permit me to show it as a w/s.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
