A Sense of Scale
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
In the summer of 2007, I spent 2 weeks touring the interior of Alaska. One of the highlights (and there were many) was camping for 2 nights at Denali National Park.
One of the main attractions of the park is of course, Denali (aka Mt. McKinley) itself. If you are lucky you will actually get a good view of the mountain but in general, about 70% of the time the mountain is shrouded in clouds and the like.
I post this shot not because it's a work of art, but mainly to provide a sense of scale of this giant.
UPDATE: I added a workshop to give the viewer a sense of the tree size that dot the landscape in this photo. |

Mike
Thanks for sharing this photo with us. It is only out in nature when you see how small man actually is.
Andrei
What an awesome view Mike,
Love how tiny the trees are in the foreground,
the curves and tones in the middle ground mountains,
and the awesome spectacle of the white peaks in the back.
Excellnt capture!
I was inspired to try a workshop,
for an alternate presnetation.
Hope you don't mind!

hi mike, thanks for your recent comments,
if these trees in the foreground are full size then these mountains are indeed huge, too bad about the cloud cover on the amazing mnts., (but hey what do you?)still a very pretty image with nice colors,
tfs,
scott

Exciting to see this majestic mountain so well, and in relationship to the area. It's a shame that too many of us take this planet and all its wonders for granted. Thanks for sharing this impressive visual reminder:)
