[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the view at the Smith Rock State Park, near Terrebonne, Oregon, looking down the Misery Ridge Trail. This part of the trail was VERY steep, and I wasn't sure I was going to make it up, as I'm afraid of heights and this part was starting to "freak" me out! I concentrated on the wooden steps and supported myself with my hands ahead of me on the wooden slats. I imagine it looked funny, but step by step I made it to the top! I had a great sense of accomplishment, and satisfaction finishing this climb! The view was well worth it!

Photo: Levels, resized, framed...I didn't sharpen this at all, it seems this new camera sharpens the photos too much. I don't know which settings on the camera to change to make it not do this. Any suggestions to make the photos come out less sharp from the camera?

Hi Lori,
Gawd! No wonder it's called "Misery Ridge Trail!" That's quite a climb! The view sure was nice at the top, though. I'm glad you made it and were able to share with the rest of us. You did a good job capturing this glorious moment. Best part was, you also go the stairs that you had to overcome composed nicely into the shot. ;)

What an odd thing to hear that cameras are too sharp. Trust me, it's always better to start from sharp than from soft. The lens we have on our camera...soft...so soft it's hard for me to correct it at times and I end up throwing the image away.

Anyhow...thanks for sharing.
Take care!
Richard

It's a trap....don't go down there.

Hi Lori

Very good capture. It give us all the true feel of the height u had there while taking it.

Well done.

Steve.

Lori,

What part of Oregon is this? It looks like a very neat place to visit. Glad you mustered up the courage to climb to the top and let us in on the beauty you witnessed. Very nice!

God's best,

Tim

Very good composition. I like the way the river and the stairs are not going in the same direction. Very good.

This is a very nice view. I really creates a sensation of vertigo as if we were falling. Very nice.

Hello again, I'm having a great time viewing your photos.
I wouldn't want you to take the sharpness away from this photo, but usually there is a star or adjust for the image within your camera's adjustments, set it to the bottom one if it pleases you.
SOmething tells me that if you enjoy this view, you aren't as afraid of heights as you think.
"The only thing to fear is fear itself".
