[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Went back to one of my local haunts last night and instead going down to the beach and playing with long exposures I thought I'd take the high ground. This is a shot of Wrights Beach which is one of the many beaches within
Sonoma Coast State Beach park lands. Wrights Beach is not only for beach goers it's for campers too as there is a small and always booked campground on the beach way at the end (but you can't see it in this shot).

This shot was taken just a few minutes before the sun fell behind the marine layer. My goal was to capture the golden glow on the foreground flowers and various rocks. The beach played a nice part too. The wind whipped up quite a bit and made taking a picture and a steady camera very difficult!

Note, the horizon in the background is level as you can see by land stretch of land at the tail end. The horizon seems to climb due to the combination of water and marine layer that look as though they have merged into one. I confirmed this with my own eyes as well :)

PP: Process from RAW with Capture NX. Slight crop and levels adjustment. Cloned out fiber in CS2. Re-sized and sharpened for TL.

Hi Mike,
mysterious seascape here and you've composed and exposed it perfectly. The suns glow on that rock in the middle makes this photo 'pop'. Congrats!

Mike,
The golden touch certainly works for me! Excellent touches of light right up the frame. Well balanced. A winner!

Thanks Mike for another stunning photograph of the California coast! Very well done.

The long view here gives us the best of everything, from foreground flowers to distant marine layer and the fantastic shoreline stretching the distance between. The golden sunlight on the rocks adds an enjoyable warm energy to the color palette. Thanks for the link...another place to put on my must-see list:) This shot is a beauty!

Hi Mike
Back on line and catching up on the stuff I missed. This looks like a good one for the Fair. Great sharpe FG - use of light on the flowers and rocks is nicely captured.
