Hi Bob!
I'm baaaack :o)
So this is an interesting photo, and yes familiar with the "things" people don't want to bother taking to the recyling center so their yards become.......well a junque yard or as you say a museum of sorts. I like the photo, the water pump also adds to the atmostphere! TFS

Bonjour,
Les vieux objets font parfois de belles photos. Bien vu.
Bonne journée.

Having grown up poor, we actually HAD one of these!!! This brings back great memories. AND we had the water pump too!! It's funny how people were so happy to be rid of them, and now they're collectors items :) TFS
I remember seeing one of those in the farmhouse kitchen of a childhood friend. Pity it's been left out like that.
bob -- I like the image, but I cannot help but wonder whether a crop placing the stove a little more to the left might not have worked better?

Hi Bob,
I don't know what it is exactly that draws me to the photo; is it the stove with it's beautiful coloring, the snow on the ground, the plant, or a combination of all? Probably the stove itself growing in the garden with the flowers.
Someone mentioned "too bad about the white van", I like the van in the photo as it emphasizes that this isn't just outside someone's old barn way out in the country, but right in town!
I've enjoyed reading your intro and the rules and regs you have posted. Really is food for thought for all of us. I know, as a pro, what you see is what you get, and that's what I try to achieve too. I try to get that final image on the first shot. I've been doing that for 30 years and now, I have the "luxury" to change in workshops, what I should have shot in the first place! Don't you think it would be interesting to have people post what they shoot without any workshops for a week or so? We're spoiled now.
Lisa
P.S. There's nothing like homemade biscuits cooked in a wood stove----been there, done that, and ate a dozen (with homemade jam).

Hi Bob
Perhaps this is a new trend - outdoor museums. Lovely to see this view into a life gone by. Great subject for a photo. Nicely composed
