This was a 25 minute star trail photo taken at the Poudre Canyon in Colorado.
It was really a bit underexposed and I had to compensate in PS which made the rock face look just a bit funny but overall I liked the composition and the fact that the north star was included. It's my second favourite of the few star trails I have done thus far. |

What is a star trail photo? This really is a beautiful shot. I can't imagine leaving the lens open for 25 minutes, but what an effect! Great post!

This is a great shot! I'd love to know what equipment you are using, because there does not appear to be any significant noise (if digital) or reciprocity failure (if film). I would have thought one or the other would be evident in such a long exposure.
