[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Picture of Honey Lake in northern California. The mountains are the Sierra Navadas.

I wanted to get the lone tree with the lake and mountains in the background. It was a cold cloudy day with the snow just leaving this area of California. The other lone thing captured in this picture is a seagul almost above the tree-just happened to be there. I tried a f18 to try to capture more of the mountains but this picture at f11 seemed to get some detain in the DOF. Light was lacking for this picture as you can see.

Any comments how it could have been a better photo? Thanks for any comments you may have.

I Like this, you have showed off the lone tree effectively (and I noticed the bird, pity it wasn't an eagle!!!)----some days there is a fine heat mist or just mist in the air, probably caused by dust from the farms and that does obscure the far mountains and hills---if you have photo shop or somesuch you could try selecting that far off landscape and with levels just bring out a bit more detail and contrast, maybe add a hint more blue in colours--give it a try, what's to lose---nice---Lynne
