REDUNDANCY
Just wondering why there are 2 Wall Street signs in one post. Maybe there's some history to it, I dunno! :)
I made this shot a bit "aged" :)

This posting is inspired from JohnTulip's works :)

Composition:
Model: Canon PowerShot A640
Exposure Time: 1/125
F-Stop: f/4.5
Focal Length: 7300/1000 mm
Metering Mode: Pattern

Pp-work:
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS3 Windows
1. downsize
2. desaturate and turn to sepia
3. add some noise for an old pic effect
4. add border with inside shadows
5. add text
6. flatten image
7. resize

Quotes of the Day:
"I genuinely believe photography to be at it's most potent when underscored by truth. To contrive is to control, and frankly I'm more interested in observation than direction. That's the random beauty of street photography." -Andrew Stark

"My work is nothing more than the visual diary of a very long walk." -Andrew Stark

*thanks a lot for your nice words about ºTranquilityºº

Nice composition with the building who is coming out the view. The sepia colour is in accord with the style. Well seen !

Hi Fred,

Nice image. Really like your POV, good compo keeping the post inline with the buildings. Lots of depth at f4.5. Grain works well too.

Thanks for sharing,

regards,

John

Hi Fred,

4 things here that i like....1)the low angle, 2)the sephia 3)the exclusion of humans on this busy street, and 4)the signage.

al 4 make this photo great.

Strange! A couple more and they would have had a "wall" of signs...hehe. Great pp work to make this even more interesting, Freddie. You have a good eye:)

Nice one Fred
Specialy how you used the frame on top to extend the photo.
Good job!!
John

I love the capture of the lamppost and the highrise behind it, it creates a strong and eyecatching vertical perspective - and really draws the double-Wall St signs out against their backdrop.

The sepia treatment works ok ... but I don't like the "out of frame" treatment (ironic, since that's the redundancy in my opinion!) nor the title - its font, its placement, or even its existence. :)

My opinions only. :) Overall I like it though.

Hi Fred,

Interesting presentation in sepia . .
I like the way you frame it . . kind of 3D style . .
I don't know either the reason of having double sign . . what is stated at the back side of this sign?

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Many thanks for your kind words on Eyes of fly .

The sepia color is magic here good concept
Bravo Réal.

It is a beautiful image, of course, but you know already is not it?
Have you tried to grow a bit density of dark areas?
what be that as it may, I love this great momentum in the vertical of the image. I like this aspect vintage. It is a classic image of New York but it is very well done here.

A realy good job.

Thx

Hi Freddie,
To be sure to be sure, they are fine street signs. I wonder why they mount two on the post. You could understand it if there were two languages, hang on...maybe one is English, and the other American;)
Cheers,
Pete.

Hello Freddie,
You made a very nice touch to make it look old but beautiful. Yah!... why two? ah... perfectly titled.

Like the way you framed it, and a very nice sepia tone too.

Ramdan.
