[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this picture of the Cincinnati skyline late this the afternoon. The sun was going down and the skyline was beautiful. The bridge on the left side of the frame connects Kentucky to Ohio and crosses the Ohio river. The weather was perfect and the sun was reflecting nicely off the river.

I shot this using a 18-55mm lens with no filter. I increased the light slightly to show more detail in the buildings. I enhansed the color then cropped and resized for TL. Let me know what you think. I hope you like it.

Hi Kevin
I think you were really lucky to get this shot especially without filter.
The bits of flare you got, made the sun look a lot larger as the reflection in the water is smaller than the sun. So I am guessing a bit of PP work was used.
Your silhouettes look great against that skyline.

Ok, here is what I think. I like the image, but it could have been a lot nicer if you waited a bit longer for the sun to be lower. The huge blown out sky is very distracting.

TFS,
Pedro

I'm a fan of wide cityscape panoramas like this. The framing of the bridge as an extension of the city to a place outside the frame is interesting.

The negative to this image is the giant overexposed sun. That is because the dynamic range of lighting in the image far exceeds the camera's ability to record it on one frame.

The best way to handle a subject like this is to take multiple frames of different exposures and combine them through software either by hand or using specialize HDR applications.

Hi Kevin,
Lovely panoramic view of the Queen City's waterfront. Lovely silver blue sheen to the mighty Ohio.
Regards, Tom

A city less known of usa, which is also very photogenic it seems to me.

Maybe, I will propose perhaps, slightly over-exposed to this kind of image to reduce the effect of the sun. then you can retrieve the darkness part with 'toshop.
But I also agree with the HDR method proposed by "azleader".

But already, the image is good and enjoyable to watch.

Thx for sharing.
